PatioSpots

People in different life stages and situations have an immediate need to find a publicly accessible toilet in a short time, often for different reasons. That's why we developed the PATIO Spots App. The app is a help in dealing with urgent situations on a daily basis - for example, when things have to be done very quickly. Users can find toilet facilities in their surrounding area, rate them and add new places themselves at any time in order to inform others about an accessible toilet. Together we can help ensure that, for example, a trip to a new city is no longer a challenge or requires extensive prior planning. But other places that encourage exchange and orientation, such as self-help groups and locations where treatment can take place, can be recorded and recommended by each user. The app thus offers a good overview of important contact points and may also show new places that can contribute to an improved quality of life. The "PATIO" project is being implemented at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute Applied Diagnostics together with researchers from the academic field and self-help groups. Our goal is to make everyday life easier for those affected with the help of a digital communication tool. The "PATIO" initiative is currently supported by the Open Innovation in Science Center of the Ludwig Boltzmann Society. The interactive app and the user community run on the citizen science platform SPOTTERON at www.spotteron.app.
